I had the chance to photograph Bridgeview Station 1, and I thought I'd share a few details about the equipment there.
- Engine 416 is a 2014 E-One Typhoon pumper with a 1,500-GPM pump and a 1,000-gallon water tank. It's a solid, reliable piece of equipment that’s been in service for several years now.
- Ambulance 417 is a 2015 Ford F-450 Wheeled Coach Type 1 ambulance. It looks well-maintained and equipped for basic life support, which is typical for a smaller department like Bridgeview.
- Battalion 40 is an older, unmarked Ford Expedition that was later customized with emergency lights and additional equipment. It seems to be used as the chief’s vehicle, and it gives off a no-nonsense vibe, which makes sense for a command unit.
Josh also took a few photos of the station and its vehicles, which are attached below. They give a nice visual representation of what the department looks like on the ground. It's always interesting to see how different fire departments equip their stations and vehicles based on their needs and resources.
