The National Development and Reform Commission said that in April, the price of domestically produced vehicles rose slightly, the price rose by 0.35% from the previous month, and the price of automobiles in April fell by 0.76% compared with the same period of last year. After the continuous low price, the passenger car stabilized and rebounded, up 0.48% from the previous month and down 1.04% from the same period last year. Among them, the price of basic passenger cars and sports passenger cars increased by 0.56% and 0.83% respectively, down 1.87% and 0.61% respectively year-on-year; the price of minibuses decreased by 0.49% from the previous month and increased by 0.25% year-on-year.
Commercial vehicle prices rose slightly, up 0.20% from the previous month and down 0.35% from the same period last year. Among them, the price of commercial buses increased by 0.65% from the previous month and decreased by 1.57% compared with the same period of last year. Among the subdivided models, the price of large passenger cars increased by 1.06%, which was 2.38% lower than the same period of last year. The price of light passenger vehicles decreased by 0.42% from the previous month and increased by 0.94%. The price of commercial trucks fell by 0.47% month-on-month and 1.39% year-on-year. Among the subdivided models, the prices of medium and heavy-duty trucks decreased by 1.54% and 0.33% respectively from the previous month, and increased by 2.46% and 0.89% respectively over the same period of last year. The price of light trucks increased by 1.55% from the previous month and decreased by 0.61%.
In addition, the price of imported cars oscillated higher. In April, the price of imported cars rose by 0.86% from the previous month and by 1.86% from the same period last year. Among them, the price of imported off-road vehicles increased by 3.19% from the previous month and increased by 0.13% year-on-year; the price of imported cars decreased by 1.37% from the previous month and decreased by 3.79%.
On May 15, Cheng Xiaodong, chief analyst of the Price Monitoring Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, said in a telephone interview that the price of the car has been falling for several consecutive months, resulting in a short-term correction of the market price and a short-term price increase. In the long run, the trend of expected decline in car prices is more obvious.
Cheng Xiaodong expects that the trend of declining automobile prices in the later period is more obvious.
