Japan's first batch of two-ship new Yanmar 6AYEM-GT common rail diesel engine delivered by Japan Yanmar

Recently, Japan Yanmar Diesel Co., Ltd. delivered the first two-set new Yanmar 6AYEM-GT common rail diesel engine to the Australian shipyard Aluminium Marine, and has installed two catamaran ferries that will serve in Mexico.

With a power of 749 kW and 1,850 rpm, the new Yanmar engine is the most powerful engine installed at the shipyard, providing high torque over the entire speed range. The machine uses electronic control technology and patented ASSIGN injection technology, which has excellent economy, power and reliability. It is equipped with an in-line six-cylinder configuration, which is very suitable for the compact catamaran in the host room with a displacement of 20.38 liters. The maximum speed is 2000 rpm.
The Aluminium Marine shipyard was commissioned by the IBS brokerage company to build the two passenger ferries. After delivery, the passengers will be transported in Mexico. The flight is short, but the passenger capacity is very high. Each ship can transport 300 people and the annual traffic can reach About 8 million passengers.
It is reported that the passenger ferry is 30 meters long, the width is 9 meters, the draft is 1.5 meters, the empty ship displacement is 70 tons, the full load plus 4000 liters of fuel and water can drain up to 100 tons, the comfortable speed is 24 knots, and the fuel consumption of a single engine is 100 liters / hour.

The material for aluminum cap includes the pure aluminum, alloy aluminum, imported aluminum strip and home‐made aluminum strip; the aluminum strip is processed by coating the nontoxic epoxy resin before using, with sound property of heat resistance, film‐removing

resistance and discoloration after boiling at high temperature.
