On October 24, Executive Deputy Governor of the Provincial Government, Ling Chengxing, led a team to inspect and guide the online drug bidding procurement process in our province. Ling Chengxing first visited the provincial medical procurement service center, where he toured the information room, the information maintenance room, and the software development room. He listened carefully to detailed explanations from staff about the online drug bidding and procurement procedures. He also gained a thorough understanding of the online drug price bidding system, the procurement platform, and the government’s supervision and management mechanisms. Following this, he received a comprehensive report on the province's online pharmaceutical bidding and procurement initiatives, which he praised for its achievements and positive impact.
He emphasized that the implementation of government-led, provincial-level online centralized bidding and procurement of medicines is closely tied to the well-being of the people. This initiative reflects the provincial party committee and government's commitment to a people-centered approach, aiming to address high medical costs and ensure the healthy rights and interests of the public. So far, the online drug bidding process has been conducted with transparency, fairness, and integrity, yielding significant results. This year alone, over 1,200 drug products were bid online, with an estimated annual savings of 1.47 billion yuan for the public. Additionally, pharmaceutical companies are expected to save 22 million yuan in intermediary service fees.
Ling Chengxing noted that the progress made so far is just the first and most challenging step in a long journey. The next phase will focus on promoting online drug purchases and effectively implementing new outcomes.
He called for continued adherence to core principles, improved operational standards, enhanced service quality, and strengthened oversight in future efforts. He urged all relevant departments to work diligently, ensuring that the online drug bidding and procurement system delivers real results and makes meaningful contributions to improving public health and driving the province's economic and social development.
