New non-ferrous metal tailings slurry dry discharge technology was born

    Recently, it has been learned from relevant state departments that a new dry tailings slurry discharge technology was born in China. According to experts, the technology can solve the environmental pollution problems caused by ore dressing and tailing, realize the closed cycle of tailings re-selection of wastewater, and effectively eliminate the mud accumulated in the tailings pond.


    It is understood that the technology is jointly developed and applied by Beijing Binlong Mining New Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Beijing Nonferrous Metals Research Institute. In 2006, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the establishment of China's first biometallurgical national engineering laboratory. Binlong Mining Company and Beijing Nonferrous Metals Research Institute invested a large number of technical forces in the National Engineering Laboratory to conduct tailings slurry dry discharge research experiments. After discussion, through the joint efforts of both parties, a set of mature tailings re-selected dry discharge technology flow was finally determined.

    Since 2002, Binlong Mining Company has comprehensively utilized the on-site interception method for the lead-zinc tailings of the Ganba Baiyin Company's Changba Mine. In order to solve the contradiction caused by the local drought and water shortage, the company currently uses the tailings slurry dry discharge technology to comprehensively utilize the plant dam tailings. According to the project leader of the company, the cyclone jet combined with the dry discharge technology for comprehensive utilization of the tailings, although the treatment cost increased by 5%, but after a few years, the tailings of 6 million tons in the tailings of the plant dam will disappear.

    Experts said that the tailings slurry dry discharge technology is applied to the mine-baline lead-zinc mine, which fundamentally eliminates the pollution of tailings to local vegetation and groundwater, especially the closed cycle of tailings re-election wastewater, to the drought-stricken areas in the west. It will have far-reaching effects, with obvious social and environmental benefits.

    Binglong Mining Co., Ltd. has been committed to the research and development of new technologies for tailings re-election. In 1995, the company invested more than 30 million yuan and successfully developed cyclone flotation flotation technology. The reporter learned that with the support of the Development Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources, the technology has been successfully applied to the tailings re-election of enterprises such as Bayan Obo rare earth mine, Nandan tin mine and factory dam lead-zinc mine. At present, they have also successfully carried out industrial experiments on tailings such as Jinchuan Nickel Mine and Panzhihua Vanadium and Titanium Mine.
