Recently, Zhenhai Refining and Catalytic Gasoline Desulphurization (S-Zorb) process improvement technology has been granted by the national patent, which can effectively solve the common problem of poor flow of adsorbent in similar domestic devices.
After the Zhenhai Refinery S-Zorb plant was completed and put into production, due to the difficulty of adsorbent flow in the horizontal cross-tube from the reactor to the reactor receiver, normal circulation could not be achieved, and the plant desulfurization efficiency was lower than the design value of 96%. The technical personnel of Zhenhai Refining & Chemicals Group worked on the problem and proposed to use the form of tilting or bending, so that the pipelines connecting the reactor and the receiver are tilted downwards to ensure that the communication pipeline will not be blocked. At the same time, gas distributors are installed to avoid air resistance. After the implementation of this improved technology, the adsorbent cycle is normal and the desulfurization efficiency exceeds the design requirement.
The S-Zorb process can be used to improve the quality of gasoline. At present, there are 14 sets of devices that have been used worldwide and have been put into operation. In 2007, Sinopec acquired the technology as a whole.
