Since January 1, 74 cities in China have begun to conduct comprehensive air quality monitoring. However, the air quality in most cities is not optimistic. The content of medium-fine particles such as PM2.5 is too high, and Beijing PM2.5 index The air quality continues to be "seriously polluted" in six levels, which raises higher requirements for monitoring instruments. Although European countries and the United States have developed earlier on PM2.5 monitoring equipment, they have certain technical barriers and high prices. It is understood that domestic PM instruments account for only 15% of the PM2.5 equipment installed in the monitoring points of 496 countries. Therefore, China urgently needs to develop PM2.5 monitoring instruments and technical means with independent intellectual property rights.

The project “Development and Application of PM2.5 Monitoring Equipment in Environmental Atmosphere” is one of the major projects listed in the “12th Five-Year Plan for Environmental Protection” and included in the special project of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
