- A fire broke out at a four-unit building on Berteau Avenue, with the rear porches involved. Two residents were rescued along with several pets.
- Two ambulances were dispatched—one positioned in front and one at the rear of the building on Berteau.
- Firefighters have brought the blaze under control, and search operations are ongoing. Two victims are currently being treated on-site.
- One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation and is receiving medical attention. Other patients appear to be in stable condition.
- In total, two firefighters were injured, both with minor injuries. Two residents were transported—one with a green tag and one with a yellow tag. Several animals were saved, and EMS used pet oxygen masks to assist them. All animals are reported to be doing well.
- A firefighter was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for further evaluation due to minor injuries. Multiple dogs and cats were successfully rescued, and the fire remains under control.
