    When the water flow acts on the sensor's sensing element, the cup, since the cups on the left and right sides have different concave and convex shapes, the pressure will not be equal, and the pressure difference will form a rotational moment and cause the rotation of the cup. The faster the water flow, the faster the rotational speed of the cup; there is a certain functional relationship between them, this relationship is determined by the test of the test tank. The verification results are attached to the results of each instrument verification. Its form is as follows:

    V=K n +C

    Where V - flow rate ( m/s );

                 N — rotation rate of the cup, equal to the ratio of the total number of rotations of the cup “N” to the corresponding “T” of the speed measurement, ie n = T(N) (1/S)

    K - hydraulic pitch ( m ) ;

         C— Instrument constant ( m/s ).

    K and C are the coefficients that characterize the performance of the instrument. They are related to the size, shape of the cup, the axial clearance of the axis of rotation, and the arc and finish of the ejector and the jewel. Therefore, the coordination of this part must be strictly checked in accordance with the technical requirements.

    2, the flow rate measurement and calculation methods

    The use of a flow meter to measure the water velocity is actually a measure of the number of revolutions that occur when the cup is impacted by a stream of water for a predetermined period of time. The rotation number of the rotary cup is converted into an electric pulse signal by means of the contact mechanism of the instrument and transmitted to the counter of the surface portion via the electric wire. For each revolution of the screw cup, the contact mechanism turns on the circuit once and the counter sends a signal. The measurer counts this signal number "N " and the corresponding measurement time "T", according to which the flow rate can be calculated according to the above formula.
