Application Scope:The YW Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit is specifically designed for the removal of fine suspended particles with a density close to that of water. This process involves dissolving air into water under pressure, which then releases as microbubbles. These bubbles attach to flocculated particles, reducing their overall density and causing them to float to the surface, where they can be easily removed.
This method is widely applied in various water treatment systems, including:
1. Removal of algae and turbidity from tap water and landscape water sourced from lakes and rivers;
2. Pre-treatment of domestic sewage and sludge concentration;
3. Industrial wastewater treatment, such as recovery of paper mill off-machine water, color and solid removal from printing and dyeing wastewater, heavy metal ion elimination in electroplating effluent, oil separation from refining wastewater, and treatment of tannery and other industrial wastewaters like those from chemical, food, wood processing, slaughterhouses, brewing, mining, and more.
Key design parameters include retention time, flocculation duration, surface loading rate, reflux ratio, and gas dissolution pressure. The hydraulic retention time typically ranges between 5-35 minutes, while the surface loading rate is 5-9 m³/(m²·h). These parameters can be adjusted based on the desired treatment outcome, leading to cost-effective and efficient operation.
Compared to sedimentation, DAF offers better efficiency, shorter retention times, and lower infrastructure costs. It is an essential technology in modern separation processes due to its effectiveness and reliability.
