Delfast Unveils Technical Specifications of Its Upcoming Three-Wheeled Electric Cargo Bike
Almost two months ago, Delfast first announced the beginning of design and development for its three-wheeled electric bike, Trike, as part of a grant received from the USAID program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" (KEU).
Today, the electric bicycle brand is sharing technical details about the upcoming model. According to Chief Engineer Sergey Goncharov, Trike features a completed electric frame with a rear motor delivering 750 watts of power and a lithium-ion battery rated at 48V and 40Ah.
In addition, it comes equipped with Wellgo pedals, a chain-driven crankshaft, and lights. It’s worth noting that this e-transport is fully waterproof, making washing easy and maintenance hassle-free.
Shown above is the bike frame, which has already been tested in the CAD system. This isn’t a 3D model but an actual construction of the future Trike, complete with specified materials and manufacturing technologies. "We conduct simulations based on this frame, test various loads, assess the overall weight of the trike, and install other components of the electric bike on the frame using the software," Goncharov said. The engineering team is currently in the design phase.
Moreover, Trike can travel up to 120 kilometers or 75 miles without recharging, making it an excellent transport solution for small businesses and individual entrepreneurs. Specifically designed for them, Trike aims to help small businesses and individual entrepreneurs deliver goods to remote areas that are difficult to access by conventional vehicles.
Furthermore, Trike can carry up to 300 kilograms or 660 pounds of cargo. Practically anything can be transported using this e-tricycle. Even if you don't plan to move quickly through hard-to-reach areas, Trike can reach speeds of 40 km/h or 25 mph when needed.
