What are the advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic rock drills?

    The hydraulic rock drill is a rock drilling device developed in the 1970s with hydraulic oil as the driving force. Hydraulic rock drills have the following advantages:

    First, the rock drilling speed is fast

    Due to the high-quality oil which is several times higher than the pressure of gas, the performance parameters and energy transfer efficiency can be higher than that of the pneumatic rock drill, and the rock drilling speed can be twice that of the same level pneumatic rock drill;

    Second, low power consumption, high energy efficiency

    With high pressure oil transfer pressure, the energy utilization rate is over 40%, while the pneumatic rock drill is only about 10%. Therefore, the power consumption is only about 1/3 of the same performance pneumatic rock drill;

    Third, the impact of great

    Due to the high working oil pressure used by the hydraulic rock drill, the shape of the piston is improved (the piston can be made smaller, thinner and longer), which greatly reduces the stress peak in the drill rod, which is beneficial to improve the life of the drill rod, and the same drill rod can transmit more. Large impact work;

    Fourth, the impact power and speed adjustable

    According to the rock condition, the impact energy and the swing speed of the rock drill can be conveniently adjusted to obtain the best rock drilling parameters;

    Five, the role is good

    Improve the working environment, that is, eliminate the oil mist on the working surface and reduce the noise;

    Sixth, the power is single, saving investment

    Do not build a compressor station, reduce the pressure equipment, and do not need to lay the pipeline.

    Although the hydraulic rock drill has the above advantages, it also has the following deficiencies:

    First, strict requirements on the performance and quality of hydraulic oils, pipelines and joints must be pressure-resistant, but also to prevent leakage;

    Second, the material of the manufactured parts should be good, the processing precision is high, the assembly process is strict, and the cost is high;

    Third, the technical requirements for the operation and maintenance personnel are higher, and the maintenance costs are also higher.
