Oslo, Norway, August 29th: WilhelmsenTechnicalSolutions (WTS) has received several contracts to supply the MaritimeProtection Inert Gas Generator (IGG) system for offshore work vessels in deep water fields in Brazil.
It is reported that WTS will deliver a total of 8 dual-fuel MaritimeProtection systems to Petrobras, the Brazilian national oil company, through the partner EEP for installation to four FPSO-modified FPSOs. Ship modifications will be carried out at the Estaleiro Inhauma dry dock, and a dual fuel IGG system with marine diesel/natural gas will also be installed at the dry dock.
According to reports, this order will be delivered in December 2013 and September 2014. It is a continuation of two similar system orders delivered by WTS last year, indicating that Brazil has become an increasingly important market for the company. Steinar Andersen, General Manager of WTSMaritimeProtection, said, "I am very pleased to cooperate with EEP/Petrobras for this order, which will strengthen our IGG system's leading position in the offshore industry."
It is also known that MaritimeProtection was acquired by WTS in April 2013 and has supplied IGG systems to the marine and offshore industries for more than 40 years.
