**Update from the Scene:**
There was a structure fire this afternoon at 9105 South Crandon Boulevard. It happened in a one-and-a-half story split-level home. Engine 46 arrived to find heavy flames shooting through the front of the building. Unfortunately, there was someone trapped inside who didn’t survive.

Attached are some photos taken by Josh Boyajian that show the extent of the damage. The first image shows the house almost entirely gutted by fire—only the skeletal remains of the structure are visible. The second and third photos depict firefighters working under challenging conditions; you can see they're cutting into the roof, which is blanketed with snow. This would have been no easy task given the weather and the intensity of the blaze. The final picture gives another angle of the burned-out home, emphasizing just how devastating the fire was.

I’m still waiting for more details about what caused the fire, but it’s clear this was a serious incident. My thoughts are with everyone affected, especially the family who lost their loved one today. If anyone has any information or knows the people involved, please reach out to me so I can pass it along.
Let’s hope the community can come together during this difficult time.
