On Monday, May 30, 2016, Glenview firefighters responded to a serious residential fire at 526 Woodland Drive. The scene was immediately marked by thick black smoke pouring from the structure, prompting a rapid response from multiple fire companies. As units arrived, the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. Firefighters from Northfield, Wilmette, Morton Grove, and Skokie also rushed to the location to assist in the effort.
Despite the intensity of the fire, crews managed to contain the flames to a single bedroom and part of the attic. However, the home suffered extensive smoke damage throughout its interior. Firefighters worked quickly to control the situation and prevent further spread, showcasing their professionalism and skill under pressure.
Several images captured the response, including a shot of an E-ONE e-MAX fire engine, a Pierce Arrow XT unit from Glenview Fire Department, firefighters rehosing after the incident, and a view of the damaged house.
