**How a Diaphragm Pump Works**
The pump is driven by an AC or DC motor. In front of the motor, there is a valve assembly containing two to five pump chambers. Each chamber has a diaphragm behind it in the lower housing. As the motor shaft turns, an internal cam pushes the diaphragms forward and then back in a continuous cycle, creating suction. This suction pulls fluid through the inlet, through check valves, and out through the outlet.
The flow rate depends on several factors, such as the number and size of the pump chambers, the cam offset, operating pressure, and fluid viscosity.
