According to the information provided by the Automobile Circulation Association, from January to August 2009, the number of trucks used in the country's 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities was 363,300, an increase of 44.01% over the same period of last year, making it the largest increase in the market.
"Not only in terms of transaction volume, but also in terms of transaction volume and average transaction price, trucks have a clear advantage and become a new bright spot for the entire used car market this year," said the association's analysts.
From January to August 2009, the volume of used-car transactions in 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities reached 92.568 billion yuan. Among them, the turnover of cars reached 50.563 billion yuan, an increase of 22.97% over the same period of last year; the passenger cars were 12.397 billion yuan, an increase of 32.92% year-on-year; the trucks were 14.758 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 75.71%.
From January to August 2009, the average transaction price of used cars was 44,900 yuan, an increase of 6.65% over the same period of last year. The average transaction price of cars was the same as that of the same period of last year. The average transaction price of passenger cars increased by 0.37 million compared with the same period of last year, and the average transaction price of goods vehicles increased by 0.73 million.
