Dow Chemical Company and Akokwana Engineering Co., Ltd. recently announced that China Petroleum Fushun Petrochemical Company (hereinafter referred to as “China Petroleum Fushunâ€) chose to use the Dow Technology Transfer Department in the newly-built 300,000-ton polypropylene plant. UNIPOL Polypropylene Process Technology, Akokwana Engineering Company will provide a variety of process engineering design solutions and technical consulting services for this project.
This world-class factory in Fushun, Liaoning, will be completed in 2010. It is the fourth in China in the last two years to use UNIPOL polypropylene technology.
This technology transfer together with three successful projects using UNIPOL Polypropylene technology in the past two years has made Dow Technology Transfer the most important polypropylene technology patent maker in China. Dr. Zhang Peifang, vice president of the global business division of Dow Technology Transfer, said The company's customer-centric strategy and technological advantages will ensure that customers achieve long-term business success.
It is understood that this is also the third polypropylene basic engineering design project that engineering company Arkvawan received in China in the past two years. Akokwana’s representative pointed out that once again participating in the China Polyolefin Project is an acknowledgement of the implementation of the Dow Chemicals project's advantages in Arkvawan, and also confirms the company’s strategic commitment to PetroChina and the Chinese market.
Together with PetroChina's Fushun project, polypropylene manufactured globally using UNIPOL process technology has reached more than 10 million tons per year, which exceeds 16% of global production.
