This is from Eric Haak:
I was at 3259 S. Halsted around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th, 2015. I arrived about five minutes too late, and the fire was already mostly under control by the time I got there. It looked like the flames were mainly confined to the rear porches of a large three-story building that had mixed occupancy. Fire engines 29 and 28, along with trucks 8 and 11, were on scene. It was tough to get a clear shot of Engine 29 because it was facing into the sun.
I took several photos from different angles. The first one shows firefighters working on the roof after the fire was extinguished. Another image captures them using a 35-foot ladder, while others highlight the fire department's equipment and efforts. These pictures give a sense of the intensity of the situation and the teamwork involved in putting out the blaze.
It’s always interesting to see how quickly the fire department responds and how they manage to contain fires before they spread further. The dedication and professionalism of the firefighters are truly admirable.
