One person was killed and another injured in a fire that broke out just before 8 p.m. on Saturday night in the 5100 block of West Grand Avenue. A victim was taken to Community First Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead. The second individual was reported in serious condition at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.
Fire crews have not yet completed a full search of the building due to its structural instability. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and officials are working to determine what led to the tragic incident.
