It relies on Germany Mercedes-Benz advanced automobile manufacturing technology and the strong manufacturing design capability of China Ordnance Industry Group to assemble and produce heavy-duty trucks with products covering trucks. More than 100 varieties, such as dump trucks, semi-trailer tractors and modified vehicles. At present, the first phase of the project has been completed and put into production. It can produce 15,000 heavy-duty trucks a year, with a sales income of 4 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 200 million yuan. It is estimated that by 2010, after the project is fully put into production, it can produce 50,000 heavy trucks, achieving a sales income of 10 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 1 billion yuan.
As a domestic heavy truck "giant", the North Mercedes-Benz trucks settled in Penglai, not only bring capital, technology, but also followed a large number of supporting enterprises. In the two years of construction of the North Mercedes-Benz project, 11 supporting enterprises including Beichi Wheel, Xinqiao Machinery, Delian Chemical, Delian Warehousing and Rongxin Machinery have settled in, with a total investment of 233 million yuan. More than 200 kinds of auto parts such as wheels, drive shafts and chassis, as small as brakes and bumpers. It is estimated that by 2010, only one North Benz company will be able to attract 120 auto supporting companies to settle in Penglai. By then, more than 95% of the spare parts required for the North Mercedes heavy trucks can be supplied by the city, and 120 supporting enterprises can realize annual sales income of more than 20 billion yuan.
