The Tri-State Fire Protection District, part of MABAS Division 10, has recently been added to the site. This local fire department serves a growing community and operates from four stations, including two medic units, four fire engines, a tower ladder, and a battalion chief. Their frontline emergency response is supported by Horton ambulances, while their firefighting equipment includes a mix of Crimson, Pierce, and Smeal apparatus. The district covers parts of Darien, Burr Ridge, Willowbrook, and unincorporated areas of DuPage County.
Tri-State Fire Protection District’s headquarters is located at Station 2, where their dispatchers manage all emergency calls. Station 3, situated at 10S110 Madison Street in Burr Ridge, is one of their key locations. A recent photo captures the station, showing its active role in the community.
One of their unique units is Squad 526, a small Crimson engine that operates out of Station 2. This unit is equipped with a rear pump, making it ideal for smaller incidents or tight spaces. The vehicle was captured in action by Karl Klotz.
Another notable piece of equipment is Tower Ladder 539, a Smeal unit that provides aerial support during emergencies. It's often seen responding to fires or rescue operations in the area.
Engine 511 is another key asset in their fleet, known for its reliability and performance. Meanwhile, Engine 583, a Pierce Arrow model, was once a primary unit but has since undergone an RPI (Rehabilitation, Preservation, and Inspection) process and is now used as a reserve unit.
