On December 11, the Science and Technology Development Department of Dongfeng Company organized an appraisal meeting at the Dongfeng Engine Factory to evaluate two key projects: "EQ491i Country 3 Engine Development and Application" and "EQ491i Engine Reduced Oil Consumption Research and Application." Both projects successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal, marking a significant milestone in the company's ongoing efforts to enhance engine performance and environmental compliance.
The appraisal committee carefully reviewed technical summaries, user reports, and supporting documentation, while also visiting the prototype and application sites. They confirmed that the technical data provided by the research teams was comprehensive, clear, and accurate, fully meeting the standards required for the evaluation. The committee expressed strong confidence in the quality and reliability of the work presented.
In addition, the research team conducted extensive analysis and experiments to meet national emission regulations and address user demands. The intake valve is generally made of alloy steel (chromium steel, nickel-chromium steel), and the exhaust valve is made of heat-resistant alloy (silicon chromium steel).
Sometimes in order to save heat resistant alloy, the exhaust valve head is made of heat resistant alloy, and the rod is made of chromium steel, and then the two are welded together.
